Mr. Aart van der Heide is recommended for consultancy services in food security, food aid, and nutrition advising. Olga Keita worked with Mr. van der Heide on three separate occasions for the World Food Program, where he set up a food security bulletin in Angola, mainstreamed nutrition into food assistance programs in Burkina Faso, and revised an early warning system in Madagascar. Keita found van der Heide to be an independent worker with proven capacity and the ability to realistically revise and formulate programs.

- 1. TO WHOM IT MAY CONCERN Through this letter I like to recommend Mr. Aart van der Heide in general for consultancy services and in particular as a specialist in food security, food aid and nutrition adviser. I have known Mr. Aart van der Heide in 1999 when I was an employee of the World Food Program in Angola. He was that time in charge to work with the VAM unit to set up the Food Security Bulletin WFP published regularly with other international and national agencies. WFP used his services again in 2006 when I was the Deputy Country Representative of WFP in Burkina Faso. Mr. Aart van der Heide was in charge of the practical mainstreaming of nutrition in our general food assistance programs. He was mainly making an inventory of potential partners within a great number of non-governmental agencies. He also was for WFP the facilitator of a three days conference making an inventory of possible ways of cooperation. The third time we used his services in 2011 when I was deputy representative of WFP in Madagascar. Mr. Aart van der Heide did the revision of the southern Madagascar Early warning system that was managed by WFP. My experience with Mr. Aart van der Heide is that he is an independent working who has proven capacity for the services we hired him. He is also a good consultant to work out realistic revision and formulation of programs. I would like to recommend his services.
