Connections and Opportunities
The Southeast Michigan STEM Summit is designed to bring a cross sector of stakeholders together to
examine and the status and needs of Southeast Michigan in addressing current and evolving talent
needs through STEM education. The focus will be on connections and opportunities; connecting skill
development and instructional applications to career pathway needs, connecting educators and
business in an evolving collaborative system, and seizing opportunities such as the state Marshall Plan
for Talent and other initiatives to engage students in expanding STEM learning opportunities that
provide career pathway preparation for college and careers.
Through presentations, panel discussion, exhibits, and networking attendees will share promising
practices and programs that provide models of measurable success along the various stages of the
pipeline. This venue will provide for collaboration among educators workforce professionals,
business leaders, policymakers, community and nonprofit organizations, and other active participants
in STEM education & workforce and economic development.
The STEM Summit is hosted by the Southeast Michigan STEM Alliance, The Michigan STEM
Partnership, and the Mobile Technology Association of Michigan and supported by various sponsors
from a broad array of public and private organizations invested in the economic vitality of the region,
including businesses, educational institutions, government agencies, and non-profit entities.

The STEM Summit program includes keynote speakers, panel presentations, and breakout sessions
designed along six tracks including educators, business professionals, policy makers, community,
parents, and career changers. It also includes student demonstrations, exhibitors, and a job/career
fair. While this is a two day event with something for everyone, the focus of day one is on education
and business while the focus of day two is on parents/adults. Please check out the registration
