2. A MESSAGE FROM THE COMMISSIONER
Welcome… Ladies, Gentlemen, and Gentlemen that act like ladies(girlie-men according to
arnold) to this years edition of fantasy football. You are cordially invited to play fantasy
football this year. I had previously planned to mail you this but fuck that, that’s cheese($15
per book to send). Upon the succession of 3 successful & competitive seasons coupled with
discussions with both previous & current owners, we have decided to take the league to
another level. A level defined only by $$$. I discussed the possibility of a Live Fantasy Draft
with people. However, it’s not looking good. We can still have one, I know a perfect place that
hosts them and we still have a few weeks to decide, I will cover this later. As of now, we will
have a fantasy online draft like last year on Wednesday August 29th @ 8pm pst. The season
starts September 5th. Entry fee this year is $40. The year is still young so you have a decent
amount of time(1 month) to get the money to me. Deadline is the weekend of August 19 th. Of
course pending final word on the draft. Please Mail a check, money order, or even send a bird
to me @ 382 South 11th Street San Jose, CA 95112. I’ll even kindly take it in person. With 12
managers projected this year the prize money goes as follows: 3rd $40, 2nd $80, 1st$230. The
remaining $130 will be divided up between the 13 regular season weeks with a small pot($10)
awarded each week to the highest scorer; which is designed to keep the season competitive
all year with money to be won every week. So for example, if person A. had the highest score
5 weeks during the year, he/she would then be awarded $50 on top of whatever playoff
winnings they had. This is due to each weeks high score being worth $10 based off of the
pot/number of players. On the next page you will see what hardware you are playing for. The
Trophy, which name was inspired by the show The League, is called The Shay. Being as I have
many complainers, or people who simply bitch a lot to put it nicely; I’m keeping the rules &
scoring system pretty identical to last year(with minor changes shown on another page) so no
one has any valid excuses as to not understanding the way things work. Moving on to the
draft, If we do one Live and in person it will be required for all those living in Nor’Cal to
attend. I was looking at 2 weekend dates previously(8/18 or 8/25), so once again give me
feedback. As far as location goes, it can be at Buffalo Wild Wings(San Jose) since they have
draft specials and cater to those having drafts or another place recommended. I’m also
looking to have a Treasurer(someone financially responsible) & 3 people to serve as part of a
‘Rules Committee’ to possibly tweek the settings next year. This is to get people more
involved, and since money is involved and people like to cry, I’m thinking we can handle the
league more democratically. I will discuss this further with certain individuals. You may think
this is a bit much, well yes it is, why? Because money and time is involved and I want
everyone to feel comfortable with everything. If you have any more issues, or suggestions
