1. THE DAWN OF THE NEW DAY
Yea!!!!! you made the end of this year again and it’s so obvious that songs of complaint has
continually filled the atmosphere again. You said at the beginning of this year that you would want
to ride a Range Rover before the end of this year but here you are, still driving that your old-rugged
automobile; you said you would move into your own apartment before the end of this year but at
long last you are still looking forward to pay the next house rent; you said this year’s Christmas
would be spent on the island of Sao Paolo but here you are still on the streets of Kano.
Enough of this Bro.! You need to start reminiscing on the very good things that came your way in
2014 and continually give thanks of your advancement in life. Do you know how many people that
have been killed by their own car this year, do you know how many house owner that have lost
their lives in cases of building collapse this year, do you know how many people that have lost their
lives during vacations this year and yet you are singing songs of regrets and excuses about the
things he has not done , but you fail to forget the small and simple things like the scent of the rain,
the taste of your favourite food, or the sounds of a loved one’s voice. Don’t you know that an
attitude of gratitude is a key to unlocking the fullness of life. Or do you think it’s because you are
beautiful that’s why death has not come your way, do you know the number of beauty queens that
have lost their lives this year alone. Don’t you know that you are not qualified for that breathe but
he has graciously qualified you and this signify to you that there is something higher for you to
conquer.
With the New Year dancing around the corner I need to speak to the subconscious of living people
around me. Bros., Sis., this is 2015(THE YEAR OF WHAT NEXT) will you continue living your life
with this low sense of urgency? Do you want to EXIST or PERSIST in 2015? But you said you would
be a year older this year but what are the additional effect you want to add to your life this New
Year. Do you want to follow 2015 resolutely (persistency) or do you want to live at an inferior level
(existence)? We all pray for long life but we have actually forgotten that it is better to have a
meaningful life that makes a difference than to merely have a long life. Like OlakunleShorinyansaid,
“ if long life is a testimony, then Jesus was an embarrassment since he only lived a short but
meaningful life”. It’s rather paradoxical that living a long life appeals to everyone, but the idea of
getting old doesn’t appeal to everyone. What are your plans in that step you want to take in 2015? I
don’t really believe in the old dogma of writing a paper-drafted new year resolution which I’m sure
would not be followed after the early days of 2015.

2. I need people who would rather make every seconds of this new year count. Would you continue
with that old life of drinking to stupor in a bar all in the name of clearing away bad memories. Is
there no better way of recharging your battery than using this life-deteriorating method. If and only
if you can say to yourself some assertive statements that would allow you follow these life
changing plans with exhilarating diligence.
I once told someone that in life I have found Peace, Joy and happiness beyond my fondest hopes and
dreams, and I would live the remaining days of my life with high and undiluted pace to achieve this
three. My advice to you all is to make the days of 2015 count and don’t just count the days in 2015.
As you go this year, never be complacent about the steps you’ve achieved, and don’t agree to follow
status quo, be determined that you are making an indelible impact with great change. Now, dress
up and be prepared to run the race of time. Start influencing people’s sense of belonging to the
earth, be a salt on your neighbors tongue rather than pepper on their eyes……….. 2014 has been the
best of years for me and to everyone that has made this year beautiful for me, I say teamo………..and
to everyone that I meet this year I say sivisamariama meaning, if you want to be loved, love.
