“VALUE ENGINEERING- A CASE STUDY ON RESIDENTIAL BUILDING” Value
engineering (VE) is a systematic and structured approach for improving the "value" of products and
services by using an examination of function. Value, as defined, is the ratio of performance to cost.
Value can therefore be increased by either improving the performance of the product or by reducing
the cost. In this project, we have analyzed various major contributions in a building construction by
implementing VE methodology in different phases. After the VE study, it was found to be there
was a financial saving of 10.26% & time saving was 21.7%.
