Overview<br />Purpose <br />The Business Rule Specifications document is intended to provide a rigorous and formal expression of system implementation rules so that they can form the basis for automation. This rigor is applied to ensure a clear and explicit understanding of the rules to be enabled by the system. <br />Scope<br />The scope of this document covers the rules applicable to the functional area for the Leave Management. <br />Audience <br />References<br />None <br />Definitions<br />The following terms and abbreviations are used in various aspects:<br />HDL: Half Day Leave.<br />MDL: Medical Leave<br />RTH: Restricted Holiday<br />PRL: Privileged Leave<br />CAL: Casual Leave<br />COL: Compensatory Leave<br />MAT: Maternity Leave<br />PAT: Paternity Leave<br />ERL: Earned Leave<br />HPL: Half Pay Leave<br />SPL: Special Leave<br />EOL: Extra Ordinary Leave<br />CCL: Child Care Leave<br />SDL: Study Leave <br />Business Rule Specifications <br />Employees and Organizations using Leave Management<br /> Brief: This system will provide Leave management functionality to the employees, employers and organization management.<br /> Detailed Rule Description:<br /> The System will provide the Leave Management functionalities for the following entities:<br />An employee can view his/her leave details or can apply for leave from this system. <br />An Organization can view its workforce availability. <br />2.2 Status transition of Leave Application for different Roles.<br />Brief: The status transition below identifies the permitted transitions for Leave Application.<br />Detailed Rule Description: <br />1. The System will comply with the status transitions documented in the following manner. <br />For Role(Leave Initiator)<br /> NEW -> REMOVED<br /> APPROVED -> CANCELED<br />For Role(Leave Validator)<br /> NEW -> APPROVED<br /> NEW -> REJECTED<br />Definitions of Leave Application Status: <br />NEW – A New Leave application created by the Leave Initiator.
