March 4-6, 2022. The 4x4x48 Sacred Run and Staking Ceremony United Indigenous Peoples and US Special Forces Veterans in a Sacred Covenant for unprecedented, united action at the Sam Houston National Forest, Texas.
2. A Special Gathering Takes Form
On March 4-6th 2022, US Military & Special Forces Veteran
Leaders from across the Army, Navy, Marines, and Air Force self
assembled on free land to unify forces with Indigenous Spiritual
Leaders for the inaugural 4X4X48 Sacred Run and Staking
Ceremony, hosted by the Warrior Angels Foundation, and joined by
3 other Veteran Support Non-Profit Organizations; Heroic Hearts
Project, Special Operations Association of America, and Veterans
Exploring Treatment Solution.
These organizations are all tip-of-the-spear VSO’s who have been
leading the fight against Veteran susicide by providing alternative
healing treatment for Traumatic Brain Injury through Hormone
Restoration Protocols and Post Traumatic Stress through
Psychedelic Assisted Therapy.
The event was originally planned to be an opportunity for battle
hardened Warrior Leaders with ties to these 4 Veteran
organizations to assemble and run 4 miles, every 4 hours, for 48
hours straight. In a two day period they would cover 48 miles with
little to no sleep.
The key purpose for the event was to Remember, Celebrate, and
Support. Remember by carrying the names of our fallen brothers
and sisters on those miles, so we could bring them home in our
hearts and minds. Celebrate by finding joy for those who have
healed or begun to truly heal from the wounds of war. And lastly to
support one another as we also support the Non-Profits on the new
frontier of Veteran Healing, Brain Health, Neurorestoration, and
Psychedelic Therapy, so we can continue to bring others home.
In order to participate in the 4x4x48 Challenge each attending
Warrior had to be invited by one of the Veteran Organizations and
agree to create their own fundraising page and raise a minimum of
$500 to attend (almost every attende raised over $1k/ea with some
individually raising as much as $12k.)
However as planning for the event progressed and word spread
about this special gathering of Warriors something no one could
have planned for began to unfold.
3. As news of this special gathering of warriors started to travel far and
wide many individuals, teams, and organizations began to answer
the call. Some as participants and fundraisers, some as volunteers,
some as event sponsors, and one great new addition as our Event
Partner - the Four Worlds International Institute lead by Chief Phil
Lane Jr.
Brought together by what can only be described as universal
synchronicity. The planned 4x4x48 Challenge event began to take
on its new and final form as the Sacred 4x4x48 Run & Staking
Ceremony.
Day 1 of the run now included a joint Opening Ceremony led by
Adam & Andrew Marr as representatives of the Warriors and Chief
Phil Lane Jr. as representative of the indigenous. Additionally, each
of the 12 four mile legs of the run would now include a blessing and
smudge for all runners.
On day 2 of the run the remarks were made by Warrior Leader
Representatives from each of the Veteran Organizations along with
remarks from Chief Phil Lane Jr. on unifying our human family,
ending war, and beginning Peace on earth by 2030.
Later that night of March 5th, 2022, a Sacred Peyote Ceremony was
conducted by highly respected and loved Indigenous spiritual
leaders for those runners seeking prayers and sacred medicine to
help them run throughout the night.
On the last day after runners had completed 48 miles in 48 hours
approximately 100 attendees gathered around the tree for the
Sacred Staking Ceremony that concluded the event - an event that
ultimately became a two-day Ceremony helping to awaken the
warrior spirit within.
These Sacred Ceremonies were blessed and empowered with a
Sacred Pipe of Legendary Lakota Warrior Crazy Horse, Sacred
Songs, Prayers, and Dance.
The Gathering Turns Sacred
4. Annual Celebration
What set out to be a simple fundraiser turned out to be so much
more. Great spiritual learning unfolded throughout the 2 day
Ceremony, immersed in great spiritual love, strength, and guidance.
The staking ceremony was one of the most powerful events that I
have ever experienced on this planet and it brought in a frequency
and power unlike anything I have ever experienced.
A former Marine and Founder of Warrior Soul Agoge and
Warrior Soul Podcast Chris Albert had this to say about the
event: “First off, I just want to say well done. I put my feelings up
about this weekend on social media, but I really want to tell you: this
was one of the best weekends of my adult life. I think you have a
framework for a world class event here. Something that I believe
could transform not just the Veteran community, but also the country
and the world. It was absolutely awesome and I am so impressed
with the work you did, and the resources you were able to put
together.”
This type of response from attendees seems to be the standard and
not the exception. Many have told me this is the greatest event they
have ever been to. For the first year after I myself had to process
what transpired, asking if it could it be replicated… should it be
replicated.
After having Chief Phil, Austin, Grandmother Mona, and Ron Carson
and Friends down for a one year anniversary Teepee Ceremony the
answer became clear…
This event and ceremony without a doubt needs to be expanded
and shared with the world. We must continue to awaken the Warrior
Spirit of Humanity. The impact alone that I have seen come from the
Warrior Leaders both Veretran and Indigenous in the last year has
been tremendous.
We have created the demand, we have the execution playbook, the
communications and social media strategy/plan/artifacts to
leverage. We spent $30k to run the event and brought in over $100k
in donations. I know with the right land and mission aligned partner
we can do so much more for the Warrior & Indigenous communities.
