Singapore Sentosa death toll set at 40
The site of the explosion has been sealed off to the public and there were traffic jams on
every road leading to the site. Our only source of news is what the news provides for us.
Our country had lost the magnificent title of being a country where terrorists cannot
succeed, and now the public grows restless, for fear of where the next one may occur.
Some of us may have been hit closer to home. After all, lives have been lost in the attack.
Some one’s dearest friend has been killed. Some one’s family has lost their lives in the
attack. The public demands an explanation. ‘How did this happen?’ we ask. Yet, we all
know that there can only be one explanation: our security was not tight enough. Now that
the perpetrators of the attack have been caught, our men and women, our brethren, have
gathered together like a swarm as we impatiently demand with rage that these monsters
be executed immediately.
It is simple. We are afraid. We are afraid that the next day, it would be our friend that is
lost, that it would be a loved one that is lost, that our own life may be lost, to the terrorists
that we now know as monsters. Together, we stand, Singapore. Together, we shall stand.
May god be with us.
