How it All Started <ul><li>The holiday started when the Continental Congress issued a day of prayer in 1775, to designate &quot;a time for prayer in forming a new nation </li></ul><ul><li>On April 17, 1952, President Truman signed a bill proclaiming the National Day of Prayer into law </li></ul>
  3. 3. A Time for Everybody to come Together <ul><li>The National Day of Prayer is a day designated by the U.S. Congress in which all Americans come together and pray in their own way, regardless of religion. It is held on the first Thursday of May and is celebrated every year. </li></ul>
  4. 4. What to do <ul><li>During the National Day of Prayer people gather together and pray, give, thanks, and honor, to other people and their country. </li></ul>
