1. Target Audience

2. General target audience for Genres
• For this type of film which I would classify as a Racing film there is
a big target audience split into two parts. A primary and a
secondary audience. The primary audience would be a teenage
boy who is interested in cars. An age range of possibly 12-25
maybe older. The social class would probably lower to middle but
it would be lower middle. It would be a fairly average teenage boy
who attends secondary school. The secondary audience however is
anyone else who is going to see the film, this could be girls who
have been dragged by a friend or boyfriend to see it or they just
have a general interest.

3. How does our film differ?
• Because there is a slightly darker undertone with our film the
primary audience would only slightly change. There will be darker
themes and strong language meaning that instead of being a
teenage that would be allowed to go see it there would be an age
rating of around 15. Because there is no drugs or sex and possibly
only slight violence it would not be able to be an 18. The
secondary audience still applies with it being anyone who does not
fit in to the category of young adult male.

4. How would you attract your audience?
• There are two types of advertising categories: Free and not free.
To me both seem to work as well as each other. Free advertising is
when people tell their friends about it, or it’s on youtube or via
social networking status. Not free advertising is when it’s on TV or
as a Trailer and an Advert on the internet. Both forms can be
found on the internet.

5. Is one type better than the other?
• With non free Advertising it creates an image you want people to
see, they’re only allowed to see what you let them. This is good
because you can make a trailer look as good as you want. With
Free Advertising it’s usually what people think, so if you haven’t
done a good job of convincing someone that your production is an
amazing masterpiece that’s what their friends will hear about and
will base the decision on if they should see it on that.

6. Attracting an audience.
• I think I would use both forms of Advertising but rely more on
Adverts on TV and Trailers because it’s more of an image you want
people to see and less of what they want their friends to really
know.
