8. CONGESTIONS (PROBLEMS) IN THE PATH OF TAPI
Terrorism effect of Pakistan and Afghanistan .
T.A.P.I gas pipeline like any other project was facing many hurdles from its inception. Since it’s a
multinational energy connectivity project it has to overcome a range of stumbling blocks like
backing out of stakeholders, disagreements of partners in deciding the transit fee to operational
issues of the pipeline in future.
10. ADVANTAGES OF T.A.P.I GAS PIPELINE PROJECT
Would promote positive political and economic interaction between Afghanistan
and Pakistan.
T.A.P.I gas pipeline could help improve relations between India and Pakistan
and it will reduce chances of armed conflict between these two nuclear
powers.
It could create a job opportunity In war-torn countries.
Turkmenistan has the world’s sixth largest reserves of natural gas. With further
energy infrastructure investments, the country could become a major energy
exporter.
For India gas can be used as an alternative to petrol, so perhaps it will lessen
India’s dependence on oil and in turn reduce its oil imports.
11. SUCCESS OF T.A.P.I GAS PIPELINEHELPS INDIA IN THE FOLLOWING
WAYS:
A share of about 15-25% of natural gas would mean large investments in manufacturing sector
in Gujarat, Rajasthan, Punjab regions, hence growth of economy.
This mutual consent would mean better economic relations with the till now bad relations with
Pakistan.
Better manufacturing sector would mean better employment opportunities for the people, better
livelihood, better HDI.
