October 31, 1753, Dinwiddie sent me to Fort LeBoeuf, at what
is now Waterford, Pennsylvania, to warn the French to remove
themselves from land claimed by Britain.
From 10 to 11 at night on December 14,1799, my husband George
Washington passed away.
Still hoping to retire to my beloved Mount Vernon, I am once again called
upon to serve this country. During the presidential election, I received a
vote from every elector to the Electoral College, I became the only president
in American history to be elected by unanimous approval. I took the oath of
office at Federal Hall in New York City, the capital of the United States.
The French counter attacked and drove me and my men back to my post
at Great Meadows. After a full day siege, me and my men surrendered
and were soon released. We then returned to Williamsburg, promising not
to build another fort on the Ohio River. Though I was a little embarrassed
at being captured, I was grateful to receive the thanks from the House of
Burgesses and see my name mentioned in the London gazettes.
After almost 9 years at war, we Americans had won our independence. I
formally said farewell to my troops and on December 23, 1783, I resigned
my commission as commander-in-chief of the army and returned to Mount
Vernon.

1738, we just moved again to ferry farm on the Rappahannock river, opposite Fredricksburg
Virginia.
Ok, I’v been home-schooled for about a year now and it’s kind of getting old because I want to
meet new people, plus the school master who teaches me is annoying, but at least he knows
what he’s doing.
I supposedly mastered growing tobacco, stock raising and surveying, or at least what people keep
telling me.
My father grew very sick a bout 1 month ago and he died a couple weeks ago, and I’m only 11. I
don’t think that any kid my age should have to have their own father leave them, but I got over it.
1735, I’m so glad to be older than my six siblings. Plus my dad Augustine Washington just moved
the family to Potomac river to another Washington family home, little hunting creek plantation.
February 22,1732, I just had my first child yesterday, George Washington, Westmoreland County,
Virginia
July, 1752, my brother, Lawrence, died of tuberculosis a while ago making me the heir
apparent of the Washington lands. Lawrence’s only child, Sarah, died two months later and I
became the head of one of Virginia's most prominent estates, Mount Vernon.
1750, Virginia's Lieutenant Governor, Robert Dinwiddie, just
appointed me adjutant with a rank of major in the Virginia
militia.
