This document summarizes a BA (Hons) Professional Practice program in Information and Libraries Management. The flexible program is designed for those working in libraries and information management who want to earn a CILIP-recognized professional qualification. The program uses a work-based learning approach and includes Recognition and Accreditation of Learning modules to assess prior experience. Participants can then take optional Thames Valley University modules and complete a final project. The degree title reflects the student's professional context or career goals.

The Work Based Learning Framework in Middlesex has a range of shell modules at various levels and credits in order to allow this. These modules cost £290 per 10 credit points.<br />A formal statement on the application of ethical principles to professional practice will have to be made as part of the Program Planning module and process. In addition, at the Program Planning stage, the award title is negotiated by the student in order to reflect professional context and/or career aspirations.
