CD ANALYSIS
1. English Words
The Cd is about learning vocabulary through games. It is very interesting for the students as it is
interactive. Students can learn new vocabulary by using interactive games.
The games used in the Cd can be used for Elementary to high school students of English in
Indonesia. The vocabulary provided in the games is based on theme so the teacher can select which
game is appropriate to the level of the students.
As mentioned before that the Cd offers vocabulary which is based on theme, so it means that
the content is in line with 2013 Curriculum which is being used for Elementary school students. The
games will help teacher to connect the materials with the vocabulary used in the classroom.
Teacher can use the Cd effectively as it is already in line with the curriculum. Teacher just has to
select which games should be used to link the vocabulary and the materials being presented to the
students.
The content offered by the Cd is really interesting. It uses color that attractive to the students. It
will be very useful to be used in the classroom as the students will be more motivated.
2. Cd of Vocabulary
The Cd consists of sets of vocabulary. Unfortunately the content is less interactive as t offers only
the definition of words. Students will need some dictionary or interactive media to get the meaning of
the vocabulary presented in the Cd.
The strength of this Cd is easy to use and navigate the program. The students or the teacher can
easily click the button to know the definition of the words they need to know.
As mentioned before, the Cd consists of sets of words definition. It is more like dictionary. Using
the cd means that the students cannot easily understand the meaning of a word. Moreover, as the list of
vocabulary is not presented based on theme so, the users will have difficulty in using it. The vocabulary
provides in the Cd is more difficult even for high school students.
The Cd is not effective to be used in the classroom. When it is used in the classroom, teacher needs
to provide the students with more explanation to bridge the students’ understanding of some words.
The material presented in the Cd is not interesting for the students. It is just like power point
presentation.
3. Speak English
The cd is about listening practice. It can be used in the classroom as it is interactive for the students.
Both the students and the teacher can easily use the Cd as it easy to navigate. The materials in the cd is
appropriate with high school students.
4. Talk More (Intermediate)
The Cd cannot be analyzed as it cannot be installed.
