2. What is it?
Acriflavine lotion is a topical antiseptic
solution yellow or orange in colour, mainly
used for minor wounds, burns, and infected
skin. Although used in dilution (0.1%) for
medical purposes, this agent has been
documented to produce potential skin
itchiness, irritation or burning sensation
upon contact.
3. Acriflavine's chief value is its remarkable
power to stimulate epithelial growth on
healthy granulating surfaces
Acriflavine is used in applications for dual
fluorescence analysis of cellular DNA and
protein simultaneously.

Applications
4. Applications
Acriflavine Hydrochloride is a fluorescent
dye, used as a topical contrast agent. It
mainly stains nuclei and is applied to
tissues before microscopy. For safe and
easy transportation, this drug is packed
in moisture proof materials
5. Synthesis
Oligo(acriflavine) was synthesized via
chemical oxidative polycondensation by
H2O2 (30%) as the oxidant at an optimum
reaction temperature of 110 °C without use
of an additional external template.
