1. GLOB​A​L SCHOL​A​R
Style guide: peer-reviewed scholarly articles

Your manuscript should:
● Inform your reader how your paper makes an original contribution to a field. This
contribution need not be substantial. For example, you might write an annotated
bibliography that you argue lists the classic works of a sub-field.
● Theorise your work conceptually by engaging with scholarly literature.
● Not plagiarise others’ work. All submissions are checked using anti-plagiarism
software. Your email should declare that you are the original author.
Formatting style guide:
● State the author’/s’ first and last name (maximum five authors)
● List the name of your institution of current affiliation (optional)
● Provide your email contact address for publication (optional)
● Include an Abstract of 100 to 200 words
● Your first section must be titled “Abstract” and the last section must be titled
“References”. Other sections may have headings of your own choosing. Shorter
headings are preferred (one to three words) ​e.g.​ “Historical context”.
● Acknowledge the contributions made by collaborators such as proofreaders,
editors and assistants.
● Use 12 point Arial or 12 point Times New Roman font
● Use double or 1.5 line spacing
● Use page breaks at appropriate places
● Use paragraph style writing
● Include a list of data references and academic references
● Do not use footnotes. Endnotes are allowable but should be kept to a minimum.
● Adhere to a word count of 1, 500 to 8, 000 of discussion (excluding abstract,
references, tables, endnotes and appendices)
● You must use the APA 6th edition referencing style guide:

● Use American English or British English only.
● Submit your file via email as a .RTF. DOC or .DOCX digital document.
