RULES:
ILLUSTRATED ART (non-computer) will be accepted, but not encouraged—must be able to SCAN and may be modified from original to accommodate computerized publishing purposes.
GRAPHIC ART (Illustration Art Readiness: The following standards are encouraged to best accommodate publication purposes.
Vector Art: This form of art file is used for spot color printing (example– printing a white ink on a black shirt or red and
white ink on a blue shirt). Files that are going to be printed in spot colors are usually going to be vector art. This is nonresolution dependent. Therefore the printer controls resolution, not the art. This allows resizing of art without change
to the resolution quality.
Acceptable File Extensions: Adobe Illustrator, eps, pdf (no placed images). Unacceptable: Word Documents, PowerPoint and other non-graphic programs are unacceptable. Corel Draw, Publisher and Freehand are not supported.
Please ask designers to export files in .eps format.
Tips for creating usable Vector Art: Convert all test to outlines. Do not use placed or linked images within the file.
(Photographic images, etc.). Include Pantone (PMS) color pallet.
Raster Art: This form of art file is used for print 4 color process. This form of printing gives the printer the ability to use
multiple colors with using only 4 colors, but can also require several touch place colors depending on the complexity
of the artwork. Raster art is used for HiRes, AccuColor printing (4 color process). All photographic or illustrative images
for print should be submitted as raster art. Raster art is resolution dependent. Therefore the artwork dictates the image quality. Resizing Raster artwork will directly affect image quality. Size increases will lower resolution and create
jagges (pixilated) edges. Accepted File Extensions:.pds(Adobe Photoshop CS)-preferred format. .tiff, jpg, pdf (no
placed images, native file only). TIPS for Raster Art: Provide 300 dpi or more at final print size. Min. resolution accepted
in 150 dpi. Quality will be marginal. Pantone matches will require added screens (touchplates). *All Graphic Art Submission must turn in the appropriate format burned to a disk. *A print out of your graphic art must accompany your
