3. O Simple Past é usado:
 Para expressar ações
acabadas em um tempo
definido;
 Para expressar também
hábitos passados.

4. SIMPLE PAST –
REGULAR VERBS
 Para se formar o passado
simples dos verbos regulares
acrescenta-se - D ou - ED ao
verbo.

5. EXEMPLOS
 Love = loved
 Talk – talked
 Change = changed

6.  Se o verbo terminar em – Y
precedido de consoante,
troca-se o – Y por – IED.
Exemplos:
 Carry = carried
 Study = studied

7.  Se o verbo terminar em sílaba
forte formada por consoante /
vogal / consoante, dobra-se a
última consoante e acrescenta-
se –ED.
Exemplos:
 Stop = stopped
 Drop = dropped

8. AFFIRMATIVE FORM
SUJEITO + VERBO NO PASSADO + COMPLEMENTO
Exemplos:
They cleaned their room.
She played tennis yesterday.

9. NEGATIVE FORM
Sujeito + didn’t + verbo no presente +
complemento.
Exemplos:
He didn’t study for the test.
She didn’t go to school by car.

10. INTERROGATIVE FORM
Did + sujeito + verbo no presente
+ complemento.
Exemplos:
Did he give me phone number?
Did they buy a new car?

11. SIMPLE PAST
IRREGULAR VERBS
Os verbos irregulares não
possuem regras para a formação
do passado.
É preciso, então, consultar a lista
de verbos irregulares.
