1. The Daniels
When like minded people get together to strive for bringing out the best in themselves,it is then that the
insurmountable is defeated and the inconceivable is accomplished.One such attempt gave birth to ‘the
daniels’ ,an organization that started off with little funds and people with a vision to experiment,learn
and rediscover themselves in the truest light.
The daniels’ , which means ‘the wise people’ was founded in 1995 and has since then been a platform of
self improvement for all those who have been its members.Our motto ‘Facile Princeps’ ,meaning
‘indisputably the first ‘,confirms to our unabatedly pursued goal of making endeavours,new and
unheard of.The confidence that the first hand experience of doing something brings makes the
danielites stand out in the crowd , with a silent confidence of a progenitor of trends which will be
followed thereafter.With this spirit as its part and parcel, ‘the daniels’ has flourished for a decade and a
half with an eventful and cherished existence
‘The daniels’ gives you an opportunity to learn ur strengths and weaknesses and discover the true you
in you because its only in introspection that improvement lies.It attempts to make each member a
better judge of self worth and channelizing it in the best direction.
‘The daniels’ aims for the overall development of its members. With the series of activities regularly
undertaken, its members work together to develop as one, brain-storming and building on our ideas of
‘let us grow together’.
Apart from the various intra-organization activities, the group conducts city level events on an annual
basis. The group makes a conscious effort to take new challenges and projects widening its horizon with
the passage of time. Every project raises the benchmark of previous accomplishments and sets a new
milestone in the list of our endeavors.
The group has organized the following events the till date:
KAIZEN : A city level inter-college event held in August’05.
VESTIGE : A city level event involving all the elite schools of the region held in ’03, ’04,’05,’09.
IMPULSE : An intra-college event exclusively for the students of PEC held in ’07, ’08.
HORIZON : The official newsletter of ‘the daniels’ serves as the primary interface between the students
and the organization.

2. ODYSSEY : As the contests trickle your thinking process, the articles add spice to the magazine blending
variety and quality.
COLISTA : A sequel to odyssey presenting a variety of quizzes and articles.
ENSEMBLE : The Musical Extravaganza, a Charity Musical Event held on 28th August 2010 which
witnessed prodigious participation of students of Classes VII to X of all the major schools of the tricity
and the tricity’s college students alike, thus, corroborating the immensity of the event.
The event comprised of:
a. Competitions– Euphony- the Instrumentals, Cadenza-the Solo Singing Competition and
Taranga- the Antakshari.
b. Silence Denied-The Rock Band Competition with the participation of the best bands, of the rock
genre, comprising of college students of the tricity and the neighbouring regions, in the later
half.
SILENCE DENIED 2.0: A charity rock band competition which took the tricity by a surprise with the
enthusiasm and the decibel level of over a 1,000 youth gathered to witness the star band The Local Train
for their 1 hour performance marking the start of their national tour
EMPRESARIO: An Entrepreneurship Summit held on 27th August, 2011 which witnessed some of the elite
business minds of the nation confabulating on their Business Plans with the much coveted and
celebrated judges of the field.

3. EMPRESARIO 2.0
Empresario 2.0 being held on September 1, 2012 is the sequel to Empresario which was the
Entrepreneurship Summit conducted by The Daniels as a part of the major event in 2011.
Empresario saw a participation of over 50 teams for the first round from some the biggest colleges
of the country including IIT’s, PEC, Thapar University, SRCC, LSR and many others. The much coveted
Venture Capitalists such as Nurture Talent Academy and Climate Connect adjudged the event
meticulously looking at all the B-plans presented.
With a cash prize offering of Rs. 40,000/-, Empresario 2.0 promises to be only bigger and better than
its precedent. Having already made its mark amongst the biggest Entrepreneurship Summits of the
north, we now look forward to take a step ahead with better teams, better judges and better
facilitations to all our stakeholders.
The summit shall be a one day event with two stages:
1. The B-plan Presentation- The participating teams shall present their Business plans, The Market
Analysis and The Feasibility Study of their plan in front of the judges.
2. Case-study Analysis- In this stage, the teams will brainstorm on the problem faced by our Case-
Study Partner and bring about a feasible solution to the problem.
The team with an aggregate best of both the stages shall take away the cash prize and a scholarship
by our VC judge.

1. This would cover the complete sponsorship of the event ranging from the smallest notices to the
biggest details. You shall become an equal stakeholder of Empresario 2.0 as The Daniels. You may
publicize your brand in as many ways as you want at the day of the event or before by Empresario
