The patented ‘IntelliHeat’ sensing
technology of ST-50 soldering
station improves the soldering

completely eliminates any wastage
of electricity, solder and flux thus
reducing the cost of repair work or
production work.
Most of the soldering stations are required to be calibrated periodically to give an optimum
performance. True engineers and technicians find it cumbersome to regularly maintain and
calibrate their soldering stations. It is a kind of extra work for them. Just to address this

robust soldering station ST-50 that completely eliminates the need for any periodic
calibration and maintenance. It is amazingly accurate and a treat for all those who want to
do more with their soldering station than a casual repair work.
ST-50 comes with a rough and tough metal casing that is enough reason to be an ideal
choice for the harshest environments. The panel on the front is slightly tilted to give your
hand an easy access to the buttons. The optional mounting bracket is also available on this
unit, so that you can mount ST-50 under the table (or workbench) leaving you with ample
amount of space to work on your project.

As per what professional engineers and technicians say about ST-50 in India is that they
have been using this remarkable product for 8-10 hours a day for the last 3 years without an
issue. Some engineers did gave us their feedback that while using ST-50 for 1000’s of hours
the grip starts to get old and gets warmed up. To address this concern, we at Sona

The tips used on ST-50 soldering station comes in two major segments, the ‘Normal Tips’
and and “Diamond Tips”. Normal tips are inexpensive and are made of iron and nickel over
the copper. Whereas “Diamond Tips” iron layer is infused with real diamonds. This
significantly increases the life span of this tip. It is a premium set of tips used for heavy
soldering jobs.
ST-50 used Miniwave Tops with “Dimple” – a patented technology of PACE. This technology
helps in sucking our solder from the pins where there is a chance of forming an unwanted
bridge. This really makes the soldering on SMD Components on a circuit board very easy.
Weller also uses this technology; however they do not own the patent (we at Sona
Technologies assume they must have paid royalty to PACE). PACE has inducted this
technology on their soldering station ST-50 much nicely than Hakko.
ST-50 comes with an inbuilt Set-Back option that is activated when the soldering unit is not
used for a pre-defined time. Once in Set-Back mode the temperature of the iron is dropped
to 175deg C in order to increase the life span of the tips. The soldering unit spring to life
when you press the Red Arrow button or by just using your iron.
This unit comes with AUTO-POWER-OFF mode. At a pre-defined time the soldering station
automatically turns itself off. It is an absolute relief for all those people who often forget to
turn their soldering stations off.
The best part of ST-50 soldering station is that you can change the tips without having to
wait for it to cool down. You can practically change the tip without turning off the set. With
TD-100 iron (used with ST-50) you just have to take the type of tip provided with rubber
mat, take it out of the hand piece and place on the tip holder on the caddy, get a new type
and click it in place. This process will take approximately 5 seconds and there is no wasting
of time.
On ST-50 soldering station you can use 2 major types of handpieces for soldering TD-100
and PS90. You can also attach tweezers like TT65 and MT100. Including these accessories
