    When I did make presentations about the Warsaw Uprising, the destruction of this great and beautiful city and then to his 'rebirth from the ashes, then I had hoped that someone in a distant world will be interested in this topic. therefore, I have not against of showing the presentation to your pupils but I am very pleased.

  • I visited Poland twice.The fisrst time in 1975.I can almost recongnice some old photos in your presentation. I felt really impressed with the museums of the World War II and they were still rebuilding the country at that time.Fortunately this great country is now part of the E.Union.

A few former residents returned to their ruined homes , young people come from all over the country, for combined efforts to rebuild the beloved capital.<br />Warszawa<br />

The reconstruction of Warsaw has been one of the priority tasks of the communist authorities, it was directed personally by BolesławBierut. <br />&quot;The entire nation is building its Capital City&quot; - the slogan that encouraged Poles to work in the reconstruction of the city.And indeed, on this appeal of the Government replied hundreds of thousands of Poles, coming to Warsaw from all parts of the country.<br />The National CouncilappointBureauReconstruction Capital, used a series of city planning proposals that was contained in the prewar project of development Warsaw, that in 1936. received a gold medal at the World Exhibition in Paris. The Bureau also dealt with by the securing of existing buildings, including a threefold detailed inventory of buildings.<br />As part of the BOS functioned the School of Antique Architecture, which owe to the reconstruction of the Old Town, Lazienki (the palace on the water) and many other objects.In the reconstruction of the city was also used the city panoramas and landscapes (such as Canaletto).<br />The reconstruction had support by the whole country - by the end of 1948 year on the Social Fund for Reconstruction Capital received 3.4 milliard zloty.<br />17 January 1945, by Soviet and Polish troops has been &quot;freed&quot; not a city, but the sea of ruins However, this did not prevent the communist propaganda to present this event as a great victory and solemnly celebrate each year.<br />
