Interesting places to visit<br />ZAGREB CATHEDRAL<br />- the building started 1093 ( 11th century)<br />- in 1242 the Cathedral was destroyed by the Tartas, but in the 15th century the building started again, but this time the Ottomans were using Cathedral for military purposes<br />- in 1880 there was an earthquake that destroyed a big part of the Cathedral <br />-The Cathedral is illustrating the1000 kuna bill<br />Cathedral today<br />Cathedral pre-earthquake in 1880<br />

Square of count Josip Jelacic<br />- there is a statue of count Josip Jelacic, first placed on the square in 1866 ( but it was made in 1880), he looked north towards Hungary (when Croatia was at war with Hungary). Now he is facing south.<br />- in 1947 the statue was removed, and in 1990 it was returned to the square.
