The Pine Needle is the campus community newspaper of the University of North Carolina at Pembroke (UNCP). It is published 14 times a year during the fall and spring semesters and also publishes online content. The student-run newspaper provides news, sports, and photography about UNCP and the local community. Majors and non-majors from all academic backgrounds can earn credit while gaining experience writing, editing, designing, and publishing the newspaper.

The newspaper is an independent news medium written,
edited, illustrated, and published by students in print 14 times
a year during the fall and spring semesters. The Pine Needle
also publishes UNCP community news, podcasts, and video
news packages on this website.

and local community.

times a year with a total of 20 to 36 pages in
two sections in each issue.
All majors are welcome!

8. The newspaper is located in room 253 in Old Main, the oldest brick
building on campus and the building with columns known as the most
recognizable symbol of UNCP.
Old Main is on the southeast corner of campus. It is number 1 on the
campus map.
The newspaper offices are on the second floor near the Mass
Communications Department office, classrooms, and faculty offices.
