2) They seem to be cooking something in pots.
3) The photographer could have been showing stereotypical roles by showing women
cooking in the kitchen.
4) It shows the difference of women from then and now. It shows how much they have
evolved.
5) Is there a man or woman in the middle of the photograph? Was this their job or meal of
the day? What are they cooking? Who are they cooking for? What year was the
photograph taken?

7) I could find out when they started using electrical mixers since there is one in the

2) There seems to be a riot which is possibly about civil rights and racism. The police dogs
are attacking the African American citizens.
3) The photographer is showing the era when African Americans didn’t have rights.
4) It captures an important time period when the issue of civil rights was in effect.
5) What led to the riot? Who’s taking the picture? Why are the police putting the dogs on
the African Americans?

photographer was racist, it could mean that there is no rights for African Americans nor is
there freedom for them. If the photographer was not racist, it could be a statement that we
need to make equal rights no matter what color because this was the harshness of life at
that time.

5) What exact message are they trying to send? Who is the man? Why is he hanging there?

looks like a painting.

They are possibly immigrants.

coming to America from another country. This could be viewing this for the first time.
3) The photographer could be trying to say that it’s their first glimpse of freedom as they
arrive to their new home.
4) It shows that this was an opportunity for a lot of people and was a chance for them to
finally have something of their own.
