    • Surrogacy in California: An Impossible Dream Made Possible! Parenting is a beautiful experience but not every woman is fortunate to conceive. This gives birth to a magical process of surrogacy that blesses the most intended parents to transform their dreams into reality. Surrogacy is the term used for a process in which a woman carries and delivers a child for another couple or person. The surrogate may be the child’s genetic mother or is genetically not related to the child. The intended parent or parents, sometimes called the social parents, may arrange a surrogate pregnancy because of female infertility, other medical issues which make pregnancy or delivery impossible, risky, or otherwise undesirable.
    • The legitimacy and costs of surrogacy vary widely according to different jurisdictions resulting in high rates of international and interstate surrogacy activity. Types of Surrogacy Surrogacy can be categorized into following types according to the process it follows:  Traditional Surrogacy (TS)  Traditional surrogacy & donor sperm (TS/DS)  Gestational surrogacy (GS)  Gestational surrogacy & egg donation (GS/ED)  Gestational surrogacy & donor sperm (GS/DS)  Gestational surrogacy & donor embryo (GS/DE) Surrogacy Scenario in the United States Surrogacy in the U.S. is quite common for all the couples seeking Green Card because their child is eligible for birthright citizenship in the United States, and can thereby apply for Green Cards for the parents when turning 21 years of age. California has very good surrogacy laws, however, the California Assembly Bill 1217, facilitates new, improved, and positive California legislation regarding surrogacy which was into effect on January 1, 2013.
    • Financial Benefits for a Surrogate in California Surrogacy is more to do with humanity than with monetary benefits still; there are surrogates who have used their financial benefits to accomplish many impossible dreams such as putting down payment on a dream home, starting a new business venture, etc. The fees paid to first time surrogates eventually increase with each baby it carries and also in addition, the intended parents pay for all the medical, legal, and psychological costs associated with surrogacy, as well as maternity clothing, additional medical procedures, the surrogate's lost wages, travel allowance, insurance, etc. The legal services fee is also an additional cost to finalize the adoption process.
    • Cost of Surrogacy in California Several service providers exist in the market offering various surrogacy programs including all facets of your case from surrogate search to preparing for delivery. Certain amount of cost is incurred in this process such as:  Cost of fertility drugs  Cost of surgery  Cost of artificial insemination and donor insemination  Cost of In vitro fertilization (IVF)  Cost of Intracytoplasmic sperm injection (ICSI) Apart from the above cost factors there may be other factors too that contribute to the cost of surrogacy in California.
