  • 34.
  • 35. Use Failover Cluster Manager (FCM) to add the SAN Volume as a CSV.
  • 36. Use FCM to add a new service and choose Virtual Machine Service.
  • 37. Use Hyper V Manager to create new VMs – point to CCB & DB VHDs.
  • 38. Enable the earlier configured VMs as a Cluster Service.
  • 39. iSCSI network must use GBIC for better performance.© 2011 Srinivasan R 6
  • 40.
  • 41. Configure new VM on DR Server and point to the replicated VHDs on the SAN.
  • 42. When disaster strikes start the VM and point the clients to the new DR ServerDR Server Conventional SAN © 2011 Srinivasan R 7
  • 43. Keeping in mind that better solutions exists, the objective of this presentation is to exhibit a concept that is affordable. Without purchasing any expensive hardware or duplicating a SAN box the objective of a DR site was met using the existing hardware with minor upgrades using the concept of iSCSI. The Solution also assumes that certain common elements such as high-speed LAN / WAN are available.
