Technology in the Classroom   <ul><li>Student’s participation in online learning community. </li></ul><ul><li>  </li></ul><ul><li>“ My Biology” Website, created by Mr. Romero to post class notes, homework assignments and participation in online discussions. </li></ul><ul><li>The use of digital tools such as: computers,digital cameras,video cameras, softwares, and GPS devices.  </li></ul><ul><li>  </li></ul><ul><li>Required Book: 2010 Miller/Levine Electronic Biology book. </li></ul>

Labs and Activities <ul><li>Labs that support the topics and chapters covered in class. </li></ul><ul><li>Labs that demonstrate the application of the biological concepts </li></ul><ul><li>in everyday life. </li></ul><ul><li>Labs that strengthen the knowledge of biological concepts. </li></ul><ul><li>Activities that reinforce key biological concepts and </li></ul><ul><li>Activities that build key technology skills. </li></ul>

  9. 9. Field Project (Continue) <ul><li>1. By using the Educational Technology standard CPI # 8.1.8.E.1- The Effective  </li></ul><ul><li>     use of digital tools to gather and organize information. </li></ul><ul><li>  </li></ul><ul><li>2. Students photograph the surroundings areas of Eagle Rock Reservation </li></ul><ul><li>3. Students use a GPS device to locate the sites photographed </li></ul><ul><li>4. Students may search Google Earth for additional geographic information. </li></ul><ul><li>5. Students use digital video cameras to document our field activity and then   </li></ul><ul><li>     create a video presentation. (posted in the “My Biology” website) </li></ul><ul><li>6. Students compose an activity report and hand it   to me.    </li></ul><ul><li>  </li></ul>

Grades and Evaluations <ul><li>Labs report must be handed on time </li></ul><ul><li>  </li></ul><ul><li>Quizzes before and after every topic. </li></ul><ul><li>5 tests, one for each topic </li></ul><ul><li>  </li></ul><ul><li>Students will graded on the field project based on: </li></ul><ul><li>Original activity report, use of graphics, video, and posting on the discussion website.  </li></ul>
