Definition of terms
• Supply
– This refers to the entire relationship between the
price of a good and the quantity supplied of it.
(Parkin, 2008)
• Hospitals
– Play an important role in the health care system.
They are health care institutions that have an
organized medical and other professional staff, and
inpatient facilities , and deliver medical, nursing and
related services 24 hours per day, 7 days per
week[WHO,2015].

A. Classification According to Ownership:
1.Government- a hospital owned, established and
created by law; facility may be under the
national government like the Department of
Health (DOH), Department of National Defense
(DND), Philippine Naational Police (PNP), and
others.
2.Private- a hospital owned, established and
operated with funds through donation, principal
investment or other means by any individual,
non-government corporation, association or
organization.

B. Classification according to Scope of
Services:
1.General- a hospital that provides services
for all kinds of illnesses, diseases, injuries
or deformities.
2.Specialty- a hospital that specializes in a
particular disease or condition or in one
type of patient( Department of Health,
2013).

the treatment and prevention of disease
especially by trained and licensed
professionals (as in medicine, dentistry,
clinical psychology, and public health)
Health care services
Health care services include all services
dealing with the diagnosis and treatment of
disease, or the promotion, maintenance, and
restoration of healh. They include personal
and non-personal health services[WHO,
2015].

Factors of production
Production- By putting together materials,
equipment and skills we provide a service
or produce a useful product.
• Land- The "gifts of nature" that we use to
prouce goods and services. All these
resources are distributed radomly across
our planet, owing which, every place has
a set of its own natural resources, which
aid in its economic development.

• Labor- The work time and work effort that
people devote to producing goods and
services. This includes the physical and
mental efforts of all the people who work on
farms and construction sites and in factories.
• Capital- refers to the machines, roads,
factories, schools and office blocks which
human beings have produced in order to
produce other goods and services.
• Entrepreneurship- the human resource that
organizes labor, land, and capital.
