Humanitarian AssistanceHumanitarian Assistance
Thank you very much for allowing us to present our vision to enhance our country’s health care preparedness in disasters/emergencies. We realize that your time is very valuable and limited so we will provide our information in a most concise and clear but limited manner. For that which we do present, we have available detailed information to supplement what we discuss, which we would be honored to provide.
As a bottom line up front, here is what we will present. We feel a self contained mobile hospitals (modular units) should be built and maintained as a US government asset which may be shared/delivered to any natural disaster or terrorist event aftermath in the country. Such a hospital can temporarily supplement or replace the local health care infrastructure which was damaged/destroyed or to help supplement the excess of casualties to treat. Such a hospital can also keep the infrastructure local (e.g. staffing). In addition, such as asset can be used out of country in humanitarian operations.
We feel that many disasters will suffer shortages of blood and blood products and the blood transshipment vehicles proposed by Equipment Innovators, Inc will fill a gap in getting blood to the right place at the right time. This will augment the capabilities of the mobile hospital response.
Finally, we feel that veterans should be first in line for the jobs created by this readiness center. These would be good jobs that will have a meaning and fill a national need. JVRHR has envisioned a veterans’ development program for homeless veterans and we envision this center as a potential part of this.
Good stewardship of taxpayer dollars and actual Federal material assets to show for it. Assets will enhance health care and its recovery, saving money and lives. Increase in jobs would be substantial and lasting.
This asset fills a gap in readiness in the country.
I am doctor Vivian Rush. My specialty is occupational and environmental medicine and I have worked in the military, civil service and in civilian health care facilities.
Mr. James Rush, our COO, will present after my introduction. He is a health care administrator with much experience in military, civil service and civilian health care entities.
We have bios available on us and our associates who are very knowledgeable and experienced in their health care disciplines.
Our company’s bottom line is we want to prevent deaths and save lives in disasters or terrorist events, and so do what we can to help make America more prepared to treat casualties. We also highly respect and have compassion for veterans, and realize the extraordinary number of homeless and disabled/impaired vets. We would like to do what we can for them as well, and hope to employ veterans where ever we can.
