1. ENVIRONMENTAL POLICY
At CCL Stressing Systems Limited, we believe that businesses are responsible for achieving good
environmental practice and operating in a sustainable manner. We are therefore committed to reduce
our environmental impacts and continually improve our environmental performance as an integral and
fundamental part of our business strategy and operating methods.
It is our priority to encourage our customers, suppliers and all business associates to do the same. Not
only is this sound commercial sense for all, it is also a matter of delivering on our duty of care towards
future generations.
The company’s policy is:
to minimize waste and then reuse or recycle as much as possible;
to maintain efficient energy, water and gas usage in our buildings, and minimize our
consumption of natural resources, especially where they are non-renewable;
to encourage our suppliers to improve their sustainability performances;
to control the risks to the hearing of our employees from noise resulting from work activities;
to promote environmental awareness among our employees and train them when appropriate;
to encourage our employees to use sustainable means of transport to come to work: car
sharing, public transport, cycling or walking as appropriate;
to operate and maintain equipment and company vehicles with due regard to environmental
issues as far as reasonably practical;
to control the risks to the environment of hazardous materials and products used in or arising
from our work activities;
to take suitable measures to prevent or minimize the effects caused by malfunctions and
accidents that could result in environmental damage;
to apply the principles of continuous improvement and prevention of pollution in respect of air,
water, land, energy usage, resource consumption, noise, odour and light pollution from our
premises
to address complaints about any breach of our Environmental Policy promptly and to the
satisfaction of all concerned;
to update our Environmental Policy annually in consultation with staff, associates and
customers;
to wholly support and comply with or exceed the requirements of current environmental
legislation and codes of practice;
to review our Environmental Policy frequently;
to communicate our Environmental Policy to all persons working for us or on our behalf and
ensure that it is available to the public.
