Mad Hat Productions is making a $15 million horror/action film called "The Man Who Smiled" targeted at male DC Comics fans over 15. The film tells the backstory of the Joker in Batman's early years, showing a scene where the man who will become the Joker has been kidnapped. His kidnappers interrogate and cut him, giving him his famous scars, while he waits for Batman to rescue him but Batman does not come, creating the Joker's hatred of Batman.

the clip we are making, The equilibrium has
already been disrupted and the soon-to-be joker
has been kidnapped and is waiting for Batman
to come and save him from but he doesn’t come
which creates his hatred for Batman. The
kidnappers are interrogating him to find
something out that he doesn’t know and they
cut his face to give him his famous scars.
