More than Just Lines on a Map: Best Practices for U.S Bike Routes
An example god help those who help themselves
1. An Example: God Help Those Who Help Themselves…
At the time when our nation is facing the hardships of flood and the disaster it brang along with
it. Many of our fellow country men and organizations are contributing to help the needy and
poor. When we talk about our youth, it has alot of energy and is very much devoted to help the
fellow beings. many of us want a medium where they could stand and try their best to make any
positive change in the society. Unfortunately, majority of us just stop reacting to our thoughts
and dedication towards our country just because we lack a suitable platform. Fortunately i
happen to know of a Foundation that is locally run and is striving its best to comfort the effected
people of our nation. Kohatian Foundation is run by the ex students of Cadet college kohat and
by the people who are in any way affiliated by the said institute.
Mobile Clinic Units
They have put together a team of staff (one doctor, one LHV and one dispenser and three
medical students who have agreed to volunteer and to help the team in data entry and to manage
the pharmacy) to be based in areas around Totakan (Malakand Division) for a week. KF is
paying the staff an agreed rate. The team is being provided boarding/lodging facilities by KF in
the residence of a local influential
mobile aid
Medical Help and Donations
The medical team fielded by Kohatians Foundation is working in the field. The members of the
team lead by Dr Abrar are 1. Ashfaq Afridi, 2. Qasim Zia & 3. Akbar Jamal (all three Final year
sytudents of Khyber Medical College) 4. Ms. Naaz, LHV, 5. Nizamuddin Medical Technician
and 6. Imran, driver. The team has treated 116 patients today. Most of the patients came with
complaints related to skin ailments, next most common complaint was of the GI tract (stomach
ailments) and respiratory tract problems.
We are trying to arrange drinking water as well. The team will get drinking water from nearby
village (no mineral water) in re-usable containers commonly called jerry cans and distribute to
the affected.
2. One of our senior Kohatians (who does not want to be named) has pledged depositing Rs
