2. The story begins by entering a classroom which is in fact a drama
lesson. The teacher is speaking to the class telling them that it is
time to present their acts based on the theme of fairytales and
says she is hoping to see magic, villains, damsels etc…
The teacher then looks towards a student who is sitting in the corner
of the room playing on his psp. She tells him that his group will be
presenting first, and asks him what their play was about. He begins
to stutter trying to get out of it and think of something to say but
while he does the school bell goes for break. The teacher says
‘Saved by the bell Luke’ and the class begin to dismiss. While they
all leave the teacher asks Luke to see her before he goes.
“You always seem to be in your own little world, it’s about time
you interacted with your classmates don’t you think? You never
know it might bring your confidence up.” While the teacher
waffles on Luke is distracted by Olivia walking past and the
teacher begins to fade away from Luke’s attention as he watches
the girl walk past.
3. “Luke! Luke!” The teacher snaps her fingers trying to regain Luke’s
attention and he quickly snaps back to reality. “See this is what I
mean! Always on another planet. Just think about it Luke.” She
picks up the prop box but a gold lamp falls out. Luke picks it up
and takes it back to the teacher and places it in the box.
In his next lesson Luke begins to get his things out of his bag but as
he does he pulls out something that doesn’t belong to him. The
gold lamp! Confused he looks at it and wonders how it managed to
get into his bag. A few bullies notice the lamp and begin to laugh
and point saying “Oh look my man thinks he’s a genie!” The bullies
begin to torment him – they take the lamp, laughing, pretending to
rub it and make wishes. Teacher comes in – “Class relax! What’s
the big joke?” Students reply by continuing to anguish Luke. Luke
becomes quite angered as a victim of the situation and shouts out
loud. The class go quiet in shock and then burst out laughing at
Luke. The teacher tells him to go out and come back when he’d
calmed down.
4. Luke leave the classroom “Argh I wish I wasn’t such a
loser!” He looks away and hears a girl say “Is that an
official wish?” He turns around to see a girl who is
claiming that she’s now his genie and he has got her
lamp. Luke refuses to believe it but eventually gives in,
having nothing better to do. He decides to give her a
chance and they begin talking and getting to know each
other. He tells her that he likes Olivia and that he
wants to impress her and can she help him. The genie
tells him he has one wish and to use it wisely…before
he makes his wish she will help him transform so by the
end he can make the perfect wish
5. While they are walking together Luke walks into Olivia
and she drops her books. “Well pick them up then!”
Luke picks them up obediently. Genie – “Why did you
let that girl speak to you like that?”… Luke tells her
that it’s Olivia and the genie is confused and says “And
you LIKE her?! Well she looked right through you so
maybe we need to make you visible to her first!” She
then gives him a makeover, making him look less geeky
and more attractive. She takes his glasses off, styles his
hair, etc…
The next class he goes into people think he’s new and
are shocked to see that it is Luke. He’s still not
confident but more people are taking notice of him and
he’s coming out of his shell slowly.
6. Olivia tries to get Luke’s attention without making it
obvious that she wants him to notice her…assuming all
boys should do this automatically. Being full of herself
she wants Luke to see her by himself and beg for her.
Luke gives her some attention – through shyness he
doesn’t do much. After they’re walking out of the class
the genie is waiting outside for Luke… Olivia – “Who is
that?!” The genie walks off with Luke who tries to wave
by to Olivia.
Montage of Genie and Luke getting to know each other,
spending time together and playing video games with
each other. Genie admires him for his ability to play.
7. Olivia calls Luke over “Oh I’ve got good news for you. I
like you.”
Luke confused doesn’t say anything…she prompts him to
say something but he doesn’t get it. “You can be my
boyfriend if you want.”
Luke is excited and shocked but in happiness he goes
with her. However she treats him unkindly and like her
slave. She just wants her personal slave, arm candy. He
begins playing on his psp and she asks him what he is
doing. He tells her he’s playing Harry potter and asks if
she wants to join him. “NO that’s so nerdy!” Luke
thinks to himself and mutters “Genie liked it…” and he
realises he really likes the genie.
8. • He later see’s the genie and runs up to her. He
tells her he is ready to make his wish… she tries
to put it off because she thinks he is going to
wish to be with Olivia. “I wish you weren’t a
genie”… The genie is shocked but happily grants
the wish.
• They are last seen in school…The genie is now a
student and they are extremely happy together,
Luke having made friends and become more
popular.
