This document discusses the development of a new type of lightweight material called aerographite. It is described as being stronger than steel but only a sixth of the weight due to its honeycomb structure which is made of up carbon nanotubes. The material is promising for a variety of applications where strength and weight are important factors, such as airplanes and cars, and could help reduce fuel costs and emissions for transportation. Further research is still needed but initial tests show the material performs well.
