He is extensively quoted.During his lifetime, Twain became a friend to presidents, artists, industrialists, and European royalty. -Twain remained neutral during the Civil War, his views became more radical as he grew older. 3. Twain’s use of dialect tells us that these men are common people with little or no education and where they are from. He started with Huck Fin setting the tone for the book “life on the Mississippi”
4. Along with dialect, Twain uses scenery description to welcome us to “Life on the Mississippi”. As a boy, Twain would dream about becoming a pilot on a steamboat. While wondering the streets of his hometown, he describes: The white town drowsing in the sunshine of a summer’s morning; the streets empty, or nearly so; one or two clerks sitting in front of the Water Streets stores, with their splint-bottomed chairs tilted back against the walls, chins on breasts, hats slouched over their faces asleep”.
5. Most people in those days were not very well educated and he shows that in the dialect when the men are having conversations. Mark Twain has written many books. all of which he uses plenty of quotes.
