A little about my friend Stopey.

1. Stopey
I have a friend named Stopey; I know that it seems odd.
A stranger name you’ve never heard, it sounds a little flawed.
But sure enough that is his name, I even asked his Mom.
She told me that she flipped a coin between that name and Tom!
He’s really just a normal kid, a lot like your or me.
He’ll eat potatoes or a roast, but not a single pea.
At school sometimes when kids make fun he doesn’t seem to
care.
He simply smiles as they talk and offers them a pear.
The teachers never call on him; it’s really quite a shame
They shouldn’t worry ‘bout a boy whose name’s a little strange.
He minds his manners very well and never gets upset.
And if a fish gets on your line he’ll run and grab the net.
I wouldn’t want another friend to ever take his place.
I might as well just wear one sock and shoe without its lace.
