The history behind Guy FawkesI’ll tell you all a story, once in the 1570s there was a baby born in York. The babies mother decided to name him Guido Fawkes. When Guido Fawkes was growing up people just called him Guy Fawkes because that would just be much easier. They lived on a street named Stonegate in York , and he lived there happily. But one day, on the 5th of November, he decided to blow up the Houses of Parliament. He did not succeed. He was hung on 31st of January 1606. So from this day we have celebrated the 5th of November because of the failed attempt to blow up the Houses of Parliament.
