part of adwords.

4. If you have an Adwords account
you won’t have to put in the
Captcha everytime 
Before you begin you should be able to
write up a list of words that you feel
people will type that may be interested
in coming to your site.

5. Brainstorm words that are about
your site, what do people find on
your site, what are you
offering, what is your site about.
Think about what you would type
into a search to find your site.

6. Come up with a list of 5 words
and phrases
You can have more than 5 but usually
this is a good number to start with.

7. Enter your list into the adwords tool
‘Find keywords
Based on one or more of the
following:’

8. For this example I picked some
simple words.
dogs
puppies
training dogs
dog accessories
dog collars

9. You can also adjust the filter for
specific locations and languages.
Also select devices like desktops
and laptops or mobile.

10. Hit the search and you will see a
listing of 800 words under the
second column Keyword ideas
This tool will show words that Google
sees as related to your words.

11. Sort the words by competition.
You want low competition

12. Now check off the ones you like
in the right hand side column

excel

14. Or pick View as Text and select
the listed words

15. Enter them again in the find
keywords area.

16. Search again with this new list
now look under the search terms

17. Search terms enter all of them
and search it.

18. Look at the local monthly searches.
Select words that have at least 2000
local searches

19. You now have a good list of
search terms you can use as
keywords for your site
Generally the less local searches the
less competition for the words. Look
for ones between 2000-200000
searches for the best results

20. You can now take your words and
double check them in the search
Look to see what the competition
looks like.
