1. Looking for a Travel Companion?
ALL members may form pairs or groups to travel together and to decide on the destinations to which
they want to travel. As an ALL group you can enjoy certain amenities not available to individual pairs
and sometimes reduced pricing. Generally, a booking of 8 cabins is necessary to book a group cruise.
Cabins can accommodate 2,3, and sometimes 4 people. The 3rd and 4th guest fares are less; however,
the sum total for the cabin can be divided among all so that each pays the same fare making it less for
everyone.
I will try to facilitate the formation of groups to any destination anyone wishes to pursue. When a
groups is arranged through a cruise line or tour company, certain amenities (onboard cash, wine with
dinner, chocolates in your cabin, etc.) usually are awarded to the group. I usually choose onboard
spending money for each passenger. Even if the group does not make, the cruise line does not take
away amenities promised now does it change the fare. In the event that the group size exceeds the
minimum, one complimentary fare is added. While this complimentary fare usually goes to the group
leader, I will divide the fare among those who are making the trip. This would reduce the fare everyone
pays.
SPECIAL NOTE TO GRANDPARENTS: Want to take your grandchildren on a cruise? Some cruise lines do
not charge for children; others charge a reduced price according to age. I’ll help you check this out if
you wish.
Two of our members are traveling the Canadian Rockies by train from Calgary to Vancouver. Others
may join this group as long as space is available. At present this is wait-listed, but chances are very good
that others can be added. It must first be verified with the hotels; there is space on the train and the
bus. Air must also be confirmed. I have asked Collette to check out the details. If you are interested let
me know soon and I will confirm arrangements. Rooms are available for pairs or triples (triples get
