What is a film distributor? A film distributor is a company or individual responsible
for releasing films to the public either through the cinema or for home viewing
(DVD). A distributor may do this directly (if the distributor owns the theatres or
film distribution networks) or through theatrical exhibitors and other sub-
distributors.

are a dynamic forward looking film distributor
company who are passionate about films and film
making. They work on UK film distribution of new
independent movies in cinema, on DVD, and for
download. Many of their film are in the horror, sci-
fi, action and comedy genre.
Left films will be appropriate for us because they
are particularly interesting in horror/sci-fi films
which is the genre of our movie.
Also most of their movies are aimed at a specific
audience of 15 and above young adults/teenagers
which is the set target audience of our film

3. Vertigo Films is a British film production and
film distribution company based in
London, England. They distribute commercially
driven independent cinema. They were
extremely successful in 2010 with Europe’s first
3D live action movie – Street dance 3D which
entered the UK’s number 1 box office beating
the likes of other big competitors such as
Disney.

distributing company which distribute a variety
of genres of films, we feel it is suitable for us as
independent film-makers as a similar sci-
fi/thriller movie called Monsters was produced
and distributed by Vertigo Films and that went
on to doing really well in UK and across the
