Anti Smoking !!
What is in a cigarette ? Nicotine is the drug in tobacco that makes smoking a powerful addiction. Experts rank nicotine ahead of alcohol, cocaine and heroin with regard to the severity of dependence resulting from its use. Acetone - widely used as a solvent, for example in nail polish remover Ammonia - found in cleaning fluids Arsenic - a deadly poison, used in insecticides Benzene - used as a solvent in fuel and chemical production Cadmium - a highly poisonous metal used in batteries Carbon monoxide (CO) - an odourless, tasteless and poisonous gas; makes breathing more difficult as it combines with the blood that carries oxygen around the body. Up to 15 per cent of a smoker's blood may be carrying CO instead of oxygen, making the heart work harder, and potentially leading to coronary heart disease and circulation problems. Cyanide - a deadly poison Formaldehyde - used to preserve dead bodies Shellac - becomes a wood varnish when mixed with a form of alcohol Tar - a mixture of chemicals (including formaldehyde, arsenic and cyanide). About 70 per cent of the tar is left in smokers' lungs, causing a range of serious lung conditions. People who smoke tobacco breathe a mixture of chemicals into their lungs. These chemicals harm them in many different ways.
Smoking is expensive, but when people consider the cost of smoking, they usually limit their focus to the cost of the cigarettes they smoke. While the cost of cigarettes by itself can add up to close to a average of £943 a year, the reality is that the cost of the cigarettes is only a small portion of the overall monetary cost of smoking.
Effects by smoking in your body ! The health effects of tobacco are the circumstances, mechanisms, and factors of tobacco consumption on human health. Epidemiological research has been focused primarily on tobacco smoking, which has been studied more extensively than any other form of consumption Tobacco is the single greatest cause of preventable death in the United States and worldwide. Tobacco use leads most commonly to diseases affecting the heart and lungs, with smoking being a major risk factor for heart attacks, strokes, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), emphysema, and cancer (particularly lung cancer)
Diseases you can get from smoking !! You can get several types of cancer in different types of the body like throat, lung & stomach ect. Diseases of the heart and circulation (cardiovascular disease) kill around 208,000 people a year. Raised blood pressure is a substantial risk factor for heart disease because it means the heart is pumping harder, putting extra strain on your arteries that can become weak and narrow. High blood pressure also makes blood clots more likely
The ways how to quit smoking ! Nicotine replacement therapy (NRT) is a type of treatment that uses special products to give small, steady doses of nicotine to help stop cravings and relieve symptoms that occur when a person is trying to quit smoking. These products include nicotine gum, nicotine inhaler, nicotine nasal spray, nicotine lozenges, and nicotine patch.1 ZYBAN (bupropion hydrochloride sustained-release tablets or bupropion hcl) is a prescription medicine to help people quit smoking. Studies have shown that more than one third of people quit smoking for at least 1 month while taking ZYBAN and participating in a patient support program. Some smokers have quit successfully by cutting down gradually, eg cutting down to five cigarettes a day or less or delaying the first cigarette by an hour each day. Eventually however a point must be reached where smoking is stopped altogether (as in the cold turkey method above).
