Dancewear and shoes scattered all over the room. Faye is sat at
her desk filling out application forms for Dance College, getting
stressed and throwing copies in the bin.

2. 1.13 Low angle tracking Faye’s feet as she dodges all her things.
1.14 Tilt up to Faye picking her clothes to meet her friends.
1.15 Camera then tracks an item she throws onto the floor and
zooms into it. The shot then fades in time with the zoom
DANCE TEACHER(v.o)
I know you can do this.
CUT TO
EXT. DAY OUTSIDE COLLEGE
She eventually seals the envelopes and posts them.
2.1 Close up of Faye posting her letters.
Faye is stood with her friends before going off for her dance
class. Her friends are discussing a party at the weekend which
Faye missed.
2.2 Tracking shot from behind Faye as she approaches her friends.
2.3 360 degree pan around her group of friend and back to her as
she talks about her weekend.
FRIEND 1
Jack’s party was so good; I drank way too much though!
FRIEND 2
Yeah I know, did you see them all jumping in the pool? It was so
funny! Did you do much this weekend Faye?
FAYE
Just dancing really... oh my god, I’m so nervous I got my audition
dates through and...
Her friends cut her off to talk about the party and Faye leaves to
go to class.
2.4 Quick pan back to friend 1.
2.5 Shot reverse shot of the rest of the conversation.
FRIEND 1
Oh shut up about dancing we never get to see you, come out this
weekend. We were thinking Josh’s party on Friday and ice skating
on Sunday.
FAYE

3. I should probably stay in Friday night; I’ve got to be up early on
Saturday.
FRIEND 2
What about Sunday?
FAYE
We’ll see.
CUT TO
INT. DAYTIME STUDIO
Faye is rehearsing at her dance studio. Room is empty, flash backs
to when she was younger. Mirrors show her reflection, bright
lighting. Flash back shows Faye at the age 6 dancing in her living
room. The scene cuts back to the dance studio where Faye falls to
the floor and gets very frustrated, but she keeps pushing herself.

3.2 Close up of Faye’s foot while she is spinning.
3.3 Low angle shot of Faye doing a split jump - (Slow motion).
3.4 Medium shot into the mirror of Faye dancing.
3.5 Close up Faye’s face as she pushes herself to the limit.

INT. DAYTIME INSIDE CORRIDOR

Faye’s perspective.

pop up to watch an audition.

Faye is queuing outside her audition holding her CD with ballet
shoes around her neck. Other dancers are stretching around her and
getting ready as Faye clutches her CD with terror. Shots show Faye
peeking through the window at other auditions and also from the
judge’s point of view. Faye’s number gets called and she enters
the room.
4.7 Zoom out as Faye enters the room.

Faye enters room to meet physio. Physio checks Faye’s spine.

Faye is looking in the mirror assessing her spine. Upset and
worried about whether it will jeopardize her future. Faye’s mum
enters carrying a folder full of university information.
6.1 Tilt up from behind Faye as she is looking in the mirror at
her back.
6.2 Medium shot of her mum entering room.
6.3 Close up of books.

5. MUM
Don’t worry Faye, I prepared for this situation

Faye looks at her mum; not caring about what she’s saying. Faye’s
mum starts going through the categories.

There’s a section for accountancy, medicine, law...
6.5 Medium shot of them both talking as her mum goes out of focus
to show Faye losing interest.
Mother’s voice fades away as Faye loses interest.
FADE TO:
INT. DAYTIME FAYE’S HOUSE
Post comes through letterbox, falls in slow motion with dramatic
effect. Faye walks down the stairs and picks up the post. She
notices the letter with the dance academy stamp. She opens the
letter, tilt upwards to her face. She looks shocked but the
audience do not know whether she made it in or not.
7.1 Close up, bird’s eye view of post falling to the floor.
7.2 Camera tilts up as she picks up the letter.
7.3 Close up as she opens the letter to show her expression.
