ROLE OF TEAM CAPTAIN
4. • Most notifications will be communicated through e-
mail or Imleagues.com announcements (i.e. player
eligibility issues, scheduling issues, etc.).
• Be sure you check your e-mail and account
regularly.
• Please respond immediately on notifications from
the administrative staff so that issues may be
resolved in a timely manner.
• Failure to do so may result in your team being
penalized unnecessarily.
COMMUNICATION
5. • Participants must wear athletic apparel.
• Cleats may not have exposed metal or metal tips.
• Jewelry, including exposed permanent jewelry, is
not permitted under any circumstances.
• Exception: Medical alert identification
• Knee braces may not have protruding metal or
plastic. A protective sleeve or padding is required.
• Participants are allowed to check out equipment
with a valid Laker ID card.
PLAYER EQUIPMENT
6. EQUIPMENT CHECK-OUT
• Various equipment is available for checkout from the Intramural Staff
when games are played.
• Player Jerseys will be provided for every contest that need jerseys by
the Intramural Program.
• Teams are encouraged to purchase their own jerseys, these jerseys
must have large numbers easily visible.
• Participants are allowed to check out equipment with a valid Laker ID
card.

• Kickballs
• Etc.
• Additional equipment is also available for checkout from the SAC Front
desk during operational hours.
• Failure to return borrowed equipment will affect a participant’s
eligibility to participate.

• If the separate leagues are too small they will be
combined into an “open” league that will not have to follow
the Co-Rec specifications.
DIVISIONS & LEAGUES
8. • Leagues will be scheduled from Monday-Thursday 6pm-
11pm. If Clayton State Main Campus is closed, Intramural
sports will NOT occur.
• There may be special event tournaments scheduled on
Friday or Saturdays. These events are rare but will be
communicated to participants.
• Schedules are available on the website at
www.IMleagues.com/clayton.
• All outdoor games will be played on Laker Field, while
indoor contests will be played in the SAC Fitness Center or
SAC Game Room.
TEAM SCHEDULES
9. • Eligible teams will advance to post-season play
at the conclusion of the regular season.
• A single-elimination tournament will be held for
each league.
• Teams who did not forfeit in the regular season
will be eligible to play in the post-season.
• The Champion(s) of each league will receive
the Intramural Championship T-Shirt.
PLAYOFFS
10. • A default occurs when a team captain notifies the Intramural
Sports Office (SAC 230 in person or by phone) by 3:00 PM that
his/her team will not be able to play a scheduled game.
• Please note the IM Sports Office is closed on
Saturday and Sunday.
• A default will result in a loss, but a forfeit will be avoided. An
adjusted Default Score and sportsmanship rating of 3 will be
recorded.
• One default is allowed per team. A team with ONE default will
remain eligible for the Playoffs.
• A second default is recorded as a forfeit and the team will not
advance to the playoffs.
DEFAULT
11. • A forfeit occurs when a team:
• does not show up for a scheduled game.
• does not have the minimum number of required players present at
game time.
• participates with an ineligible player.
• Game time is forfeit time.
• Your team will receive a loss for that game and
will be ineligible for the playoffs. An adjusted
Forfeit Score and a sportsmanship rating of 3 will
be recorded.
• A second forfeit will result in your team being
dropped from competition for the reminder of the
season.
FORFEIT
12. • No rescheduling should be necessary.
• Rescheduling a game may be possible in
extreme circumstances with advance notice
and a valid reason.
• A request to reschedule a game must involve a
MAJORITY of all team members.
• Reschedule requests must be made two days in
advance of your scheduled game date.
RESCHEDULING GAMES
13. NO ID = NO PARTICIPATION
• Each participant and coach must present a valid
picture identification card, such as a Laker ID card,
for every game in which he/she participates.
• If a player signed in last game and played but
his/her name does not appear on the computer-
generated scoresheet, contact the sport
administrator.
• It is necessary to know your Laker ID number in
order to sign in on your team’s roster.

19. • Participants who do not have a team may register
as a Free Agent in Imleagues.com.
• Team captains who want to add players to their
team’s roster can search for available free agents
and invite them to join a team.

24. • As a team captain, you MUST communicate
with your players regarding eligibility policies.
Ask the right questions to make sure that they
are eligible.
• It is your responsibility to know who is playing
on your team. If you are unsure, it is better to
be safe than sorry.
• ONLY Clayton State University current
students/faculty/staff with a SAC membership
are eligible for Intramural Sports.
ELIGIBILITY
25. • HINT: If a participant is denied SAC access, then
he/she is ineligible for Intramural Sports. Access
to the SAC as a guest or a spectator is not
acceptable for Intramural Sports participation.
• Each participant may play on a maximum of 1
Men’s or Women’s team AND 1 Co-Rec team in a
sport. No exceptions!
ELIGIBILITY
26. • A coach must be eligible for intramural participation.
• Current varsity baseball/softball athletes are not eligible
to participate during the same 2013-2014 academic year.
• Former varsity (or professional) baseball/softball athletes
(ringers) may participate with certain restrictions:
• A team is limited to two (2) ringers.
• A former athlete is considered a ringer for 2 academic
years following participation as a varsity athlete.
ELIGIBILITY
27. • Current club athletes may participate with
certain restrictions: (ex. Club Soccer for Indoor or Outdoor IM Soccer)
• A team is limited to a maximum of two (2) club
players on its roster.
• A club player is considered a club member for the
entire academic year.
• See the Intramural Handbook for specific
eligibility requirements (i.e. club sport members,
professionals, etc.).
ELIGIBILITY
28. • Captains may add players to their roster ONLINE or the
participant may “Join a Team” online.
• The official roster is the list of all players who have played
at least one game for your team.
• A participant is a member of the first team on which he/she
PLAYS.
• No player may be dropped from one roster to be added to
another.
• A player must have played in at least one regular season
game to be eligible for the playoffs.
• Rosters are frozen prior to the Semi-Final round of Playoffs.
TEAM ROSTERS
29. • Good sportsmanship is important at every contest.
• A team captain is ultimately responsible for his/her
team’s behavior.
• Sportsmanship ratings will
be awarded to each team following each game.
• Team members’ sportsmanship can affect your
team’s eligibility for the playoffs. A team must
have an average sportsmanship rating of 3.0 to be
eligible for the playoffs.
TEAM CONDUCT
30. • If a participant is ejected, he/she becomes
INELIGIBLE for ALL current and future intramural
activities until he/she meets with the Assistant
Director for Intramural Sports, Keegan Ashbee. The
participant must call to schedule an appointment for
a re-instatement meeting.
• An ejection will result in a minimum one-game
suspension from time of appointment.
• Any ejection will result in a team sportsmanship
rating no higher than a fair rating (2).
EJECTIONS & REINSTATEMENTS
31. • A team captain may file a PROTEST to resolve the
following issues:
• An error in interpreting a rule or enforcement of a
penalty
• An opposing team member is ineligible for
participation
• The team captain should notify the game official
IMMEDIATELY that he/she wishes to protest, and a
supervisor will be called over to assist with any
decisions that will be made.
• Every effort should be made to resolve the protest ON
THE FIELD OR COURT.
**A JUDGEMENT CALL IS NOT PROTESTABLE.**
PROTESTS
32. 4 = Excellent
No incidents of poor sportsmanship and the team maintains an attitude of complete
cooperation.
3 = Good
Minimal instances of poor sportsmanship, little complaining.
2 = Fair
Team members display abusive remarks towards officials, unnecessary roughness, and
constant complaints. Teams that have players or coaches ejected for any reason will
receive no higher than a 2 rating.
1 = Unsatisfactory
Team fails to cooperate with officials and team is repeatedly warned about above infractions.
The team captain is required to meet with a member of the IM Lead Team prior to the team’s
next participation.
0 = Poor
Team behavior is completely uncooperative. Conduct may include, but is not limited to,
striking an opponent/staff, unnecessary roughness, discontinuance of game, and disregard
for IM policies and procedures.
A team receiving a 0 rating may face disqualification from the remainder of the season.
Sportsmanship will be evaluated on a 0 to 4 point scale.

SOCIAL MEDIA
34. • There is an increased awareness of
alcohol-related issues on campus.
• Alcoholic beverages are not
permitted at SAC facilities (no cans
or glass bottles).
• Parking areas are monitored by
Public Safety.
• Participants who are “impaired” will
NOT be permitted to play.
• Spectator behavior can affect your
team’s participation.

INCLEMENT WEATHER
36. • Field space may be available for practices on a
first-come, first-served basis when DRW activities
(intramurals, club sports, etc.) are not scheduled.
• Practice space is not available for reservation but
may be available on a drop-in basis.
• Please protect your safety
and the condition of our
facilities. Stay off fields
when games have been
cancelled due to inclement
weather.
