1. Production Schedule
Week 1
Mon
I will decide and set up an appropriate layout that I will use for all my recipe cards, making sure
that the layout is creative and suitable for each of my cards. I will make sure that there is space
for pictures, ingredients, processing method, other images for my theme which will be summer. I
will also leave space for a small persuasive description of the recipe also the vegetarian society
logo, a top tips section and also information about the recipe such as preparation time, cooking
time and how many it serves. The time that it will take my to plan the layout of final recipe cards
will take all day. I have decided that to get all my layout plans completed will take all day as in
case I need to adjust or change anything to the layouts, I will have enough time during the time I
will need to make sure that everything will be seen on the recipe card and will be the right size
and I will also need to make sure that my layout is aesthetically pleasing towards my audience
and not all cramped up into a mess. I will create the layouts and plans for my recipe cards
during college and when creating the layouts I will use computer programmes such as
Photoshop and also Microsoft word.
Tue
On the Tuesday I have decided that I will concentrate on the background on my recipe cards I
will start on my all 4 cards and creating decorative background colours that will work together
also if I wanted to add a creative design I would complete this. During this day I will need to
focus on what the different recipe cards will have in common. I will have to make sure that all 4
of my recipe cards are consistent with the same background and layout therefor I will use this
day productively to work out what backgrounds work well, what looks consistent and also make
them look interesting. During this day I will also focus on the borders on my recipe cards. If they
are going to have a bold border running along the sides of the cards and if there is going to be a
border splitting up the different sections of my recipe card I will work through my 4 recipe cards
to make sure that the borders and background look decorative and creative. If I have time I will
also any my pictures onto my recipe cards. These will include the pictures of food, the images of
summer and also the vegetarian society. This task will carry out all day on Tuesday and it will
take place during college. As I am using photo shop to create my recipe cards I will use the
Photoshop programme to carry out these task’s
Wed
Now since that I will have the layout, background as well as images and borders of my recipe
cards I will start to add more information into the recipe cards on this day. I will add all my text
including the title, the description, the process, the method and any other small boxes of text
that I would like to include on each of my 4 recipe cards. By adding texts this means that I will
have to make sure that each word is spelt correctly. During this day I will also make sure that I
have a good use of words by making the recipe cards sound very professional and high quality.
By working on the use of language I will make sure that it is the best standard possible during
the time that I have to carry this out. To improve on my language I will make sure that the words
are easy to understand and I will also use persuasive techniques when it comes to the
description of my product that will make the audience more interested. In the titles of the dishes I
will try to use alliteration as this will make the dishes sound more exciting. To complete this part
of the project it will take me all day to decide on the texts on the 4 recipe cards. I also may need
extra time the following day to complete anything that i didn’t have time to do. The programmes I
will use for my text and spelling will be Photoshop and I will also use Microsoft word to check
any spelling or grammar mistakes.

2. Week 2
Mon
On the Monday I will carry on with my text if that task still needs to be completed if not then I will
experiment with my different fonts, I will chose the different fonts for each specific part of my
design. For example the title of my dish on the front of the card will be a larger font than the
information and process and ingredients on my card. During this process I will try out different
fonts and decide on my fonts for my final 4 cards front and back. I will make sure that the fonts
stay the same throughout my cards and that they are consistent so that it is clear that they are
all part of a set. For example all 4 cards will have the same font as the title. I will make sure that
the fonts I use are a suitable size on my recipe cards and that they are a clear and
understandable to read to the audience I will make sure that the font is an a appropriate size so
that when people are making the recipes on the cards they wont have to look closely however
they will be able to read the font from a distance. To try out different fonts I will use the
programme Photoshop and I will also download my fonts from dafont.com. To complete this
process of the project I will need to make sure that I have enough time so I have decided to use
the full day to complete this task this will able me to complete the fonts to the best standard I
can.
Tue
As I have got all the contents needed for my recipe card I will now need to work on the colour
scheme of all 4 of my recipe cards on the front and on the back. I will need to make sure the
colour theme fits in well with my theme of summer and I will also need to make sure that the
colour scheme of my cards suits my target audience of vegetarians. During this time in the
project I will have too work around with different colours to get the correct colour scheme. I will
have to change the background, the colours of the texts, the borders and also any other sources
of things such as clipart or illustration and creative designs on my cards. I will make sure that my
colour scheme runs throughout my recipe cards however I might decided to have different
colour backgrounds on each of the cards however keeping everything else similar so it is still
clear that they are a set. During this part of the project I will find out what colours contrast each
other and what looks best together. I think that trying out a range of different colours will take a
while to get the correct colours on my recipe cards that’s why I have decided to leave the full
day to test and experiment and decide on the colours for each of my recipe cards front and
back. I will use Photoshop to complete this process.
Wed
As I would’ve had complete everything major all my recipe cards I will use this day to add any
other extra information to my recipe cards that might need to be added. This will include little
text boxes around the recipe such as nutritional information, extra tips, facts for the audiences or
serving time, cooking time and preparation time. I may need this time to research the products
on my recipe cards and check any information that will be vital for the audience such as contains
nuts. I may have to adjust the layout and the different text boxes to make sure that there is
enough room on my recipe cards.

3. Week 3
Mon
I will use this time as contingency time if anything has gone wrong during my process of making
cards then I will use this spare time to fulfil it. This contingency time can include anything like
catching up with tasks that I have missed or if I didn’t put enough effort into my tasks I will make
sure that this time is spent productively. If I haven’t had time to finish of a task then I will use this
time to complete it. Also one day if I became ill or unable to work then I will use this time to catch
up on a task and make sure that it’s completed. If nothing has gone wrong then I will use this
time to develop my cards and move on to the next step.
Tue
I will use this full day for my final editing day, I will adjust and change anything if it doesn’t look
appropriate or fit in with my theme or the recipe cards. During this day I will check every detail
on the recipe card to make sure that everything is the best it can be to my best standard. For
example I will go through each card thoroughly and check through the pictures, the text, the
process and any other details on the card to make sure that are correct. If anything doesn’t look
right or suitable then I will use this time to adjust anything. After this is completed I will try to
improve and develop any of my ideas. I will ask for advice on how I will be able to make my 4
recipe cards better and I will take it on board and try to improve my recipe cards to make sure
that they are too professional standard and they are the best quality that they can be.
Wed
As this is the final day of the production schedule on this final day I will give an overall check of
every detail of my recipe cards and I will look back at the brief and I will make sure that my
recipe cards tick all the boxes and fulfil the brief. If anything needs improve then I will try to
improve it and I will also decide on a print finish that I would like my recipe cards to have such
as varnishing. After I have double checked through everything, created and developed the
recipe cards to the best of my ability I will then finish the production process of making my recipe
cards.
