2. Billie Joe Armstrong was born on February 17, 1972 in Oakland, CA. He lived in Rodeo, CA with his mother, Ollie, and father, Andy, who died of cancer when Billie was young. He is one of six children, and now has two sons, Joseph Marciano and Jakob Danger with his wife, Adrienne. While in his elementary school cafeteria, Billie met Mike Dirnt (Michael Pritchard), and the two bonded immediately over their love of music. The two started a band called Sweet Children with a drummer named Al Sobrante, but later changed their name to Green Day and had to find a new drummer after Sobrante left for college. Tré Cool became their new drummer after showing up to their first gig wearing a dress and his grandmother’s sun hat.
