connected to a mobile network or an internet connection

● Convergence of collaborative, location-based and on-the- 
go technologies 
● Emerged as a result of the growing popularity of 
smartphones 
● Primarily used for marketing and discovery purposes
SoLoMo 
● Started by John Doerr, Chi-Hua Chien and Bing Gordon 
● Smartphones and tablets are integrated with geo-location 
technology that makes SoLoMo possible. 
● SoLoMo has discovered that there is a widely untapped market and 
when they incorporated more local results in search engine results, 
they have discovered the size of the local market on the Internet.

● SoLoMo has changed the way consumers and businesses: 
o Buy 
o Sell 
o Advertise 
● It attracted new types of consumers, those who are constantly 
online and connected with other people, which presented an 
opportunity for merchants or sellers to personalize offers based on 
the location of the consumer and based on who they know.

  1. Smartphones are more convenient, portable, and user friendly compared to desktops and laptops. Because of this, SoLoMo has emerged which clinged and constantly affects human life every day.
  2. Buying, selling, and advertising should now be correlated with SoLoMo since this is the SoLoMo era where people and their mobiles are inseparable.
  3. It allows to reach the market more conveniently and gives them information faster and easier. Thus, increasing sales and making e-commerce more effective and reachable. Information from e-commerce can spread through the help of SoLoMo more efficiently.
  4. Information spreads quickly through the internet. With this said, keeping customers satisfied gives them the chance to speak out though their reviews. These reviews then helps future/new customers make their decision whether to buy from which brand or company. The collective reviews of customers are very influential to future customer’s decisions.
