Job Description • Re-organize the Public Information Centre by processing all the documents
through accessioning, cataloguing, classification and creating the e-PIC online
catalogue.
• Proactively manage and maintain the Country's Public Information Center/
Library (physical and virtual) in accordance to standard guidelines.
• Help ensure that the Bank’s information on development is accessible to the
widest array of stakeholders possible through the appropriate channels and products
such as the country website, information centers, libraries, press, radios, newsletters,
events and so forth. As needed, establishes points of access to information in regional
libraries, public institutions and project sites to improve access to Bank project and
program information in various areas of the country.
• Ensure that the country web site is up-to-date. Under appropriate guidance,
regularly liaises with the Bank's key stakeholders (e.g., the media, civil society, academia,
businesses, local government agencies, etc.).
• Develops and maintains information products and services within and outside
the Bank. Acquires, maintains, controls, packages and distributes all released documents,
publications, and information in other formats of Bank, Government and other
institutions.
• Maintain current knowledge of all lending operations and country work
ensures all relevant documentation is available in a timely manner.
• As the point of entry to the Bank for many external stakeholders, provide
courteous, accurate and timely information. Refers complex questions to appropriate
Bank staff or to the Officer. Responds to routine inquiries (via telephone, email,
correspondence, or in-person) about the Bank. Provides expert advice to internal and
external audiences on the availability of information to public according to the Bank’s
Disclosure Policy.
• Under guidance, drafts, edits, produces, and distributes routine outreach
materials (e.g. brochures, news releases, Power Point presentations, etc.) related to the
PIC services and the Bank's work in-Uganda.
• Regularly tracks and analyzes data and information for research, current
events, public opinion and other internal or external developments related to the Bank
and its work, utilizing information from routine and non-traditional sources from both
inside and outside the Bank.
• Under appropriate guidance, regularly liaises with the Bank's key audiences in-
country. Maintains effective two-way communications and dialogue with academics,
businesses, agents working on projects, government agencies, depository, regional
libraries and local distributors of Bank publications.
