We’re going on a Wood Hunt!

Lesson’s Focus
  In this lesson, you will be exploring:
• The many observable properties of wood
• How wood is used in everyday products
Let’s Review our Types of Wood:


 Basswood
                        Particleboard


             Pinewood




   Plywood                 Redwood
Wood is Everywhere!
In almost every indoor environment (and
sometimes outdoor environments
too), there is something always made
from wood or a combination of wood and
another material.

Take a moment to look around your
house or classroom to see what you can
find!
What did you find?
Did you find something in your home or
classroom made from wood?

Some things you may have found in your
home or classroom could include a
door, tables, desks, and even a toy to
name a few
Mini-Wood Hunt Part 1:
Look at the following pictures to see which
   objects are made ONLY from wood:
Did you find the objects made
      from only Wood?
  These are the Wood Only Objects:
Mini-Wood Hunt Part 2:
 Look at the following pictures to see which
objects are made of Wood AND An Another
                  Material:
Did you find the objects made
  from Wood AND Another
           Material
 These are objects that are made from Wood and
               Another Material:
Mini-Wood Hunt Part 3:
Look at the following pictures to see which
 objects are not made from wood at all
Did you find the objects that are
   not made from wood at all?
   These are the objects that were not made
               from wood at all
Now it’s your turn!
As part of this lesson, you will be go on
your wood hunt around your house
and/or classroom to find 5 different
objects made from wood, but first you
will complete the remaining parts of the
Learning Module.

            learning module)
