Can you just smell it when you wake up in the morning? That deep robust smell suggests that someone is making coffee.
People have been doing this for centuries. It just seems that is the way to wake up in the morning.
2. Can you just smell it when you wake up
in the morning? That deep robust smell
suggests that someone is making coffee.
People have been doing this for
centuries. It just seems that is the way
to wake up in the morning.
3. Of course, you could get dressed and go
to the local Starbucks for a coffee of your
choice. Why do that?
With just a little effort, you can make
store quality coffee at home. You don’t
even have to get dressed to enjoy your
favorite morning beverage.
How do you start?
4. The first thing you need to take into
consideration is how many people you
will be making coffee for. If it is just
you, it will different from if you are
making it for the spouse and some older
children. (Young children don’t’ drink
coffee do they?)
Of course, you could use a stovetop
percolator. These days, very good coffee
machines are inexpensive and you can
buy them just about everywhere.
5. Make sure you keep clean as that affects
the taste of the next cup of coffee.
Now you want to consider the kind of
coffee you want. Fresh roasted coffee is
what you need if you are going to
produce store quality coffee. That means
purchasing you coffee beans every 2
weeks or so. You want only what you
are going to use so they stay fresh.
6. Speaking of beans, you want to grind
your beans as close to the time you will
use them as possible.
If you have a grinder at home, that isn’t
a problem. If you are going to grind
them at the store, consider how much
you will need right away.
7. Get used to the right grind. When you
find a grind that works, roll some
between your fingers to feel the texture.
Then the next time you have it ground,
you will now what the proper grind is for
you.
8. The proper mix of water to coffee is
essential. The standard is 1 to 2
tablespoons of ground coffee to six
ounces of water.
Make sure the temperature is right. It
shouldn’t be more than 205 degrees
Fahrenheit.
Finally, brew it carefully depending on
the kind of system you use. Experiment
witih different times to get it just right.
9. Follow the above instructions and you will
have store quality coffee at home. Now
that is something to wake up to.
