Dr. Jessica Huizenga has worked in many positions in the education industry, from a teacher at
middle schools or high schools to a school or district administrator. She is pleased to be able to be
involved in the education industry because it affords her the opportunity to help children by
expanding their educational opportunities.
Currently, Dr. Jessica Huizenga is the Assistant Superintendent for Curriculum, Instruction, and
Assessmentforthe Cambridge PublicSchoolsinCambridge,Massachusetts.In 2006, she was named
the Principal Scholar for the Institute for Large Scale Improvement by the Harvard Graduate School
of Education. Later, her dissertation, entitled “Addressing Problems of Practice and Instructional
Improvementin Collaborative Settings: A Theory Based Approach” would receive the 2012 Coburn
Award for Outstanding Dissertation. This was an incredible honor for Dr. Jessica Huizenga and one
she is proud of.
